My DS is 2.5 and was showing all the signs of readiness/capability for potty training (telling me he’d done a poo in his nappy etc) so decided to potty training Monday.
Monday he had done so well only 1 accident but loads of wees in the potty and would tell me if he needed a wee or poo .
Tuesday (am) a couple of accidents but a couple of wees in the potty and also a poo. In the afternoon he started holding his wee and would only release it once his night time nappy went on.
Today (am) he had no accidents in the morning but again in the afternoon he was holding onto his wee and only after being sat on the potty several times as he was so uncomfortable and distressed he managed to do a wee but pooed in his highchair at dinner time.
we’re both stressed/upset this evening and thinking I should shelve potty training for now however I’m worried trying to restart at a later date will be harder (have read children are more resistant to potty training the older they get) and will he associate the potty negatively from this experience? Sorry for the essay my brain is frazzled! My DD was dry during the day at 2.4 so naively thought he would follow a similar process
