2.5 year old won't wee out of the house

Started potty training on Saturday and he's fully trained in the house, tells us before he needs a wee now without any prompting. But he will not do the same out of the house. Is it a case of it's still fairly new he will pick it up? Or is there something I can do to encourage it when we are out? I don't want to end up it being a big thing so would ideally like to nip it in the bud soon
I take a travel potty with me. At home he uses the toilet step trainer thing on our toilet but I have got him to use the travel potty a couple of times just to rule out it being that. Any ideas?

Also to add I did try taking the toilet steps to my parents house to see if that made a difference and he still had an accident.

I think the best thing is just for you to go, take him with you and just say oh mummy needs a wee, lets go together and then get him to try as well. It will come.

Not many things will end up "being a thing", it will pass, don't give it any energy, things change day by day at this age. It's still really really new, they will get the hang of it.

He's probably just a bit distracted and it's very early days. I'm sure he'll get the hang if it soon Wink

Yes this is what we do. And we have a foldable toddler toilet seat- it’s a panda so the novelty element was helpful there and easier to carry than the potty.
