Dry all night with a nappy but wets the bed if wearing pants

Hi, my daughter is 5.5 years old, successfully potty trained since she was 2 in the daytime. For about 6 months now she will be dry overnight with a nappy on after a month of dry nights we tried pants and she would wet the bed every night without fail. We do all the usual limiting water before bedtime and going to the toilet just before sleep. At one point we set an alarm to wake up around midnight and take her to the toilet which helped but it wasn’t sustainable for us and everyone was getting more and more tired. We ended up putting her back into nappies at night and again she would be completely dry overnight. We’ve just tried to put pants on again now as we ran out of nappies and she’s wet overnight, I don’t really understand how she can be dry with a nappy and not dry without.
Does anyone have any advice on how we can ditch the nappies now or do we need to go back to the nappies again?
thanks

Is the nappy actually completely dry? They absorb a lot of wee, so if she wees just a little bit it might look dry. I would just continue to let her wear a nappy at night and try again in a few months. Only weeing a bit at night means she is well on the way to being dry.

Thanks for replying, yes the nappy is bone dry in the morning no sign of any wetness she’s maybe had a lightly wet nappy a handful of times over about 6 months

Have you tried not wearing pants to bed and just wearing her pyjama bottoms or a nighty with nothing else underneath?
