We started potty training our daughter around October half term so just over two months ago, at this time she was 23 months. We waited for signs she was ready etc. and she took to it really well. After the first week ish she stopped having any accidents at all and was somehow managing to hold it all night and during her naps every day consistently which I was shocked by. She was poorly a good couple of times during this period and still had no accidents either. However, in the last week I would say just around Christmas, she has started having the odd accident, mostly around when she was playing with a new toy, is this normal has she just been getting so excited and distracted that she isn’t realising she needs it until too late? She also as stopped holding her wee all night and is waking up with wet nappies every morning now. I only ask if these things are both normal as she hasn’t been doing this the whole time and I’m worried she’s going backwards slightly, if she had done these things from the beginning I’d not be questioning it at all as I know it’s very normal for them to not be dry at night and to still be having the odd accident after only 2/3 months. I’m worried she’s almost slightly lost the ability to hold her wee in and if she has why has this happened. Have we got too comfortable maybe in not regularly reminding her but she became so good at just knowing and going she was the same at nursery they were so confident they stopped putting nappies on her for her nap pretty quick.
Has this happened with anyone else’s LO?
