2 year old- taking poo out of nappy

My DD was 2 in June
For months she has been telling me she's done a wee/ poo in her nappy

Had a go at potty training, she managed a few weeks on the potty, but most of the time she was weeing all over the place so i felt she wasn't ready

Been trying again this week, she's mashed a few weeks on potty and is so excited when she does, but she's still not showing much interest, I also have a seat for the toilet but she won't sit on that

My problem now is, when she's got her nappy on and does a poo, she puts her hers down there and then smears it everywhere 🤦‍♀️ I've read this can be quote common, but never had this with my son

Just looking for some advise on how to encourage her a bit more, and how to help with the poo situation (not sure there is even anything can be done)

Thank you
