Best thing to remove smell of wee from clothes?

Recently started toileting, it's going really well on the whole but my LO had a couple of accidents on Christmas Day as we were out and about.
The clothes she was wearing have been washed but still smell faintly of urine. My next step was going to be soak them in Napisan but thought I'd ask if there was anything else that definitely works?

Thanks!

What temp are you washing at? 40 degrees with biological detergent would probably do the trick. Or a scoop of vanish added at 40 if using non-bio. The warm temp and enzymes in bio/ vanish should do the trick.

Add Napisan in the detergent drawer 1 scoop It has always worked for me getting wee/ poo smells out and that's using a non bio powder on a 40 degree wash.

Yeah, I did wash at 40, there's only a couple of things which smell. I think they're the bits which were left for the longest. I'll try adding some napisan to the wash, usually soak stuff but it's a bit inconvenient. Thank you!

white vinegar is great for getting all sorts of smells out i imagine it work for urine.

FirstFallopians · 27/12/2023 13:50

Careful soaking them in Napisan- it has bleaching properties so will affect any colours.

Ive always found a hotter wash does the trick- 60 degrees should shift any remaining whiffs.

Agree with white vinegar

Drop of Zoflora..

It's too late now but I would have pre-soaked in warm water and bio powder for a few hours.

Tomato purée gets the reek of fox out of my springer spaniel. Then we have the question of how to get TP stain out...

Pineapplewaves · 27/12/2023 18:29

Dettol Laundry Cleanser works for me, you just add a capful to the fabric conditioner dispenser in your machine.

Jandob · 27/12/2023 18:35

Napisan is great. Use a hot wash.

henrysugar12 · 27/12/2023 19:05

Use a hotter wash.

Also, if the urine is particularly smelly could they have a UTI?

NoHeavenNoMore · 27/12/2023 19:35

Ooo great suggestions, I haven't tried yet as not been to the shop but I will be buying Napisan and white vinegar tomorrow

@henrysugar12 I think these two items of clothing just smell because they weren't washed straight away, the urine doesn't smell when she's been on the toilet or potty

@Pineapplewaves this sounds like a good thing to have in anyway. Thank you 😊
