Absolutely at the end of my tether with this.

DS is 3.5. I have been trying to potty train him since he was 2.5 - first got the potty, pants & a book at that age, he wasn’t interested. Used to carry it out of the room and hide it.

Tried again nearer to 3. Still not interested.

Tried again at about 3.3 with a bit more success and he has been nappy-free since then, but the last couple of months have been variable. Sometimes he goes by himself, sometimes I notice he needs to go and manage to get him to the potty in time, sometimes he just goes on the floor, sometimes we can be out and about for 3-4 hours, including drinks and snacks/lunch, and he will hold it or not need to go.

Nursery have been great and very supportive - he’s exactly the same there, sometimes goes of his own accord but sometimes stands and wets himself.

I am trying to be chill but he starts school in a year. His verbal skills are good & we have a lot of conversations about the potty but he will not verbalise why he doesn’t use it sometimes. He will sometimes refuse to go when I remind him.

He is always praised for using it and I do not criticise or shout when he doesn’t.

I don’t know what else to do.
