Help! My little girl use to be regular and had no issues but since potty training, no only will she only go in her pants, she will not go on the potty or toilet.. She is also only going once or twice a week? She seems ok with this but I’m just a bit worried about it. I spoke to the doctors who advised she increases her fibre but I just wondered has anyone else been in this situation? My daughter eats really well, I’m not really sure what else to do?

Sorry I don't have any advice as I'm in the same situation, we're a few weeks into potty training and my 2.5yr old is fine with wee but will only poo in her knickers. Thought we had a breakthrough today as she said she needed a poo and sat on the potty several times but didn't do anything, as soon as her knickers were back on she hid and did a poo... she also gets freaked out when she sees poo so not sure if that's anything to do with it. Take them with you
Show them it's normal to poo and just ask them to sit on the potty while you do too
In time they will see it's normal to go to the toilet

Some children will only poo in a nappy when they start potty training depending on the child communication skills maybe ask

Upping fibre is great but it could cause more issues if the issues isn't fibre but holding it due to not wanting to go. More
Fibre will cause your child to go more often but this could cause more accident and more distress

Rewards charts for poos on toilet such as 3 poos on the potty and we we can go to the big park (things that you can do with no issues or real inconvenience) sometimes can help too

There is an app called poo goes to pooland. Its so simple but really seems to help with the mental side of things.

I think Gina Ford's book on potty training has some good advice on poo withholders (I didn't follow any other Gina ford routines or anything, just the potty training book)

Hello everyone

Quick question/advice needed
My almost two year old poops only once a week. She’s holding it as she’s scared. Once she’s pooping she poops a lot but has no pain is nice soft stool.
Drinks plenty, fiber in diet etc

Any advice what can we do. Gp gave her Lactoluse but she had a bad side effect. So we’re trying natural things.

Did anyone had the same issue? How long did it last? What helped?

Thanks

Jumping on this thread-did you find anything natural that helped please? Lactulose and Laxido have really distressed my four year old.
