How to move from potty to the toilet

Any tips?
My DS is doing great with the potty, it's been a 1month + and we are on no accidents a day. But he refuses to sit on the toilet - we have a toddler seat as part of it and he had a step too.
He tells me it's too cold and won't even entertain sitting on it.

Do I just make the potty disappear one day?
Or am I being impatience and it take time for them to move onto a toilet?

With my first she kind of decided when she was ready to - I think it helped that when we were out and about she was having to use big toilets in cafe’s etc… (although if you see my thread I’ve just posted I am no authority on the matter!)

DD just kind of got there herself. As PP said, we started to use big toilets when out where I would lift her up and hold her on, and then she just gradually wanted to use her toilet seat attachment thing and learned how to set it up herself. They use one at nursery too so I think she saw the other kids going there instead of the potties and that made her want to.

It took a few months I'd say.

It took a few months for both kids. Using the toilets in different places and with different people (e.g. auntie, grandad) helped.
I wouldn’t push if it’s otherwise going well, though once the weather gets warmer you could mention that it won’t be cold. However it could be fear of falling down the loo too.

Thank you all!
I'll stop pushing him and see if he naturally wants to try soon.
We've been out and about but he always holds it in until we get home so we are still yet to experience a toilet without a potty situation!
