Hi - just wondering if anyone else has had the same problem? He's great on the potty and 'garden' wees but just won't use the loo and gets very upset when we try and take him to it and just says he's too small for it. We've tried steps and seats etc and nothing is working. REALLY looking forward to not having to clean out a potty anymore! X

Gosh I could have written this post myself! No more ideas than you've tried I'm afraid but plenty of sympathy, and I'll be watching with interest to see if anyone else has broken this barrier Grin

Oh it's nice to hear we're not alone!

How old is your DC op? Will he stand and do a wee at the toilet at all or is the sitting down aspect more of an issue? It can be quite a daunting experience for many children, so patience is definitely needed! You could try a 'toilet style' potty as a transition between your current potty to the big toilet. There are quite a few around, for example, this one:

www.smythstoys.com/uk/en-gb/baby/potty-training/potty-seats/summer-infant-my-size-potty-white/p/156328?gclid=EAIaIQobChMI6tSq2eqW7AIV0O3tCh3G_QtHEAQYBCABEgLbRPD_BwE

You could then try and move on to the big toilet, perhaps begin by just seeing if he will sit on the seat or having your DC sit on your lap on the toilet if he is worried. A favourite book, toy, TV programme/game could be used whilst sitting on the toilet to try and be comfortable and take his mind off the fear of the toilet. Lots of praise/rewards for if he sits or stands at the toilet.
