How do I get my son to tell me when he needs to go to the toilet?

Hi, grateful for any advice. My son is 3 and we have been toilet training for 2 weeks. The only progress we have made is that he knows his pee has to go in the 'big boy toilet'
Yet despite this, he will pee and poo everywhere except the toilet.
He will happily sit on the toilet, he isn't scared of it or anything but he just won't do anything in it. I put him on the toilet regularly as well.
I tried sticker rewards charts snd they dont really interest him.
He will happily sit in wet pants as well so this makes it even harder.
He has been a bit of a slow burner at some things but now i am panicking as he is due to go to preschool in September and they will expect him to be trained.
How on earth can I get him to tell me he needs to go to the toilet instead of him standing peeing wherever he is?

I’m having a similar problem. Refuses to do anything on the loo then does it under the dining table 60 seconds later. 🤷‍♀️

Same as DD who is just 3. I've been sitting her on the potty and giving her loads ic water so she wees in there then we all rejoice but she foesnt have the idea to go there when she needs ot, will only do it if shes sat there to start with. Also doesnt care about wet clothes.🤷‍♀️

I'd say that if they can't communicate the need to go to the toilet then they aren't ready for potty training. My ds was only just potty trained (sort of ) just before his 4th birthday. However due to sensory needs he has no recognition of needing to poo but shouts wee wee when he needs to wee.
