Day 5 of potty training DS, he's 2yrs 7 months good u see standing and speech. It's so frustrating he screams if you try to put him on the potty saying he's scared so we're now trying not to pester him and preempt it snd instead let him tell us and hope he starts to make the connection as obviously it's not a nice feeling when he wets himself.
He's better at poos as I think it has a bigger sensation and he's very pleased with himself when we've put him on the potty and after 30mins I'd sitting there he'll finally do a wee so we give him lots of praise and cuddles. I'm pregnant and with lockdown and DH working my patience is thinning, please tell me it clicks and he'll start to tell me in advance soon!!

It massively varies, but I wouldn't expect him to be reliably telling you until the end of week 2. It's mostly you prompting them at first.

We started over the Easter bank holiday at 23 months. We've had good days and not so good but this week it seems to have clicked, he will tell us and now pushes his bottoms down with minimal help from us.
