We started potty training at about 28 months. DD can use potty & loo for wee, but still persistently poos in her pants. We've it seems like we've tried everything and every time it seems like we've made some progress, she regresses. Both myself and my husband are beyond stressed about it and the prospect of her going to school and still not being potty trained is worrying us even more. Any advice would be VERY gratefully received.

The ERIC website is the place to go. They have really good, sensible advice.

DS did this initially for a few weeks. We made it part of his daily routine - pick a time of day when you aren't rushed. For him we made him go sit on the toilet with the iPad for a couple of episodes of Fireman Sam after lunch.
We found he hadn't been sitting long enough to relax and go. We left him there as everyone got fustrated if we stood over him. Lots of praise when he did it.
Within a few weeks he had worked it out and a while later ipad wasn't needed either.
A friend did it every night before bath for her son. He still had that routine aged 7.

My niece did this until 3 weeks before she started reception. the one thing that made a difference was seeing her similarly aged cousin using the toilet for a poo. 3 days later she was sorted!
