I'm after some advice. I think my 27 month old son is ready for potty training. He often tells me before he needs to do a wee or poo, but then won't do it on the potty (or refuses to sit down altogether) and pees/poos on the floor minutes later! It's like he just doesn't want to do it (wee/poo) sitting on the potty.
Classic example from earlier today: He tells me he needs the potty (I could also tell from his behaviour that he needed a poo), but refuses to sit down on potty for more than one second. Then a minute later he poos on the floor next to the potty.
Why doesn't he just do it on the potty?!? I've tried everything: Telling him he is a big boy, letting him watch telly on the potty (this just distracts him I think) and bribery (with chocolate which he loves!).
I guess people will tell me it's too early and he's not ready yet, but I feel like he is ready, as he is able to tell me that he needs to go! He also doesn't go when in the car/buggy/when he naps, which suggests he has good control.
Any advice to get him to "like" the potty? Thanks!
