Hi all,

I'm really hoping for some advice as I don't know where I'm going wrong!

I took my son off nappies 6 weeks ago and it's been fine...i tell him to go on the potty every so often and take him to the toilet when we are out. BUT....he never tells me that he has to go, so if I leave it and don't ask him or sit him on the potty, he just pees himself.

I'm not sure if this is my fault as this was the way we started ( me asking him and sitting him on every now and then) or if it's normal behaviour and he'll simply ask me one day.

Does anyone have any advice or been in a similar situation?

Thanks in advance for your help :)

It sounds like he's not recognising his body cues. Can you have a few days at home with a potty upstairs and down and not much in the way of clothing on? Stop reminding him to go, but if he starts to go and you see tell him ' Oh you're having a wee, shall we go and sit on the potty? Have a look at Aha Parenting on 'toilet learning', it seems like a pretty foolproof method.
