At least one accident a day but always in the house!

After a bit of advice, been trying to potty train Ds for 4 months (feels a lot longer) he got poos really quickly and has never had a poo accident since about day 2. Wees took a lot longer but he went through a good spell where he could tell me he needed to go and stayed dry. He then seemed to massively regress and wet all the time, got that under control but since then he has wet at least once a day, I can't remember when he was last dry all day. I would just put him back in nappies but he is dry all night and very rarely wets the bed, he is also dry when we are out and about and has the vast, vast majority of accidents at home. I can't help but think that he is choosing to wet out of laziness but it is driving me mad right now. I honestly don't know what to do. Do I carry on and just ignore it? Do I tell him off or do I put him back in nappies? The latter would be soul destroying as the whole potty training journey has been a nightmare so far! He is 2 years and 8 months
