Potty training

How long after potty training did you try to go nappy-less at night?

DD has been out of nappies for about 4 months now and I am wondering if we should be trying to get out of nappies at night, or if this stage just goes on for another year or something? I've looked at some old threads and the consensus seems to be if they are dry in the morning then go ahead. She is wet usually around 1 or 2 mornings a week, but I haven't been making her sit on the loo before bed, which I assume would work if she can go!
Any advice? We are off on holiday end of June so it would be lovely not to have to pack nappies, but I suspect this may be a bit soon and don't want to be stuck in a villa with no spare sheets! . TIA

So she is dry 5-6 mornings? Just dump them now.

Really? Wow!
I currently have a child gate at her door - more because I don't want her wandering off in the mornings rather than waking me up. If I put her on the loo would you put a potty in the room for night wake ups or leave the gate open? Or not expect a night wake up at all seeing as she is dry most nights?

I think if they do a wee last thing, unless they have been drinking vast quantities they should be ok till morning. Mine rarely woke up for a wee, but if they did wake up they generally didnt realise they needed a wee but they would do one if I took them.

But mine did wee pretty much as soon as they woke up in the morning,so beware

Tbh, I would take some pull ups as a different bed can be unsettling remembering wee soaked sleeping bag on a campsite which we were moving on from that day so just had to pack it up

Good luck!
I just leapt straight in and went nappy free at night at the same time as during the day for my eldest 2DC. (Am doing it now)
Unfortunately for me, although DC2 has been dry, we co sleep so I can't bloody sleep because I'm awake worrying he'll wet the bed! :-)

She woke at 12:30 needing a wee so we went to the loo. Then she came in with me (2nd night in a row this week and although I love it, she does like to lie ON me, which doesn't make for a good night's sleep!) She was dry though, so think she was ready Smile Thank you all for giving me the confidence Flowers
