Ds1 is 4.5. We tried no nappy for first time last night. When we checked at 10pm his bed was already wet! Changed sheet and put nappy on. In morning nappy was onlt slightly dry. So he appears to do biggest wee quite early in night. Is this normal? A sign he isnt ready?
At times in the past his nappies have become lighter although not completely dry. But we didnt bother taking them off as had ds2 up in the night a lot and didnt want to have to deal with changing sheets too. Then his nappies seemed to get wetter again. So hoping we didnt miss opportunity and now he has just got used to weeing in his sleep!

I have a just turned 5 year old with the same issue. Was at the doctors for something else and mentioned it - she said he was to drink more water mid to late afternoon, for all fluids to be slightly reduced after that time until bed and for him to go pee whether he says he needs to or not at least twice in the hour before bedtime. He's not yet dry after implementing this but I can definitely see his nappy is not nearly as wet as it used to be. Hoping this is the start of dry nights!

Thanks. We will try that. I was quite surprised he was wet so soon. I imahined the wee came early morning. But perhaps its a good sign that he just needa to drink less after teatime. I thought we were actually doing this. But will definitely try to reduce it a bit more.
