I'm not really sure what comes next

We've got a potty. It lives in the bathroom. I've been putting ds on it morning and evening for a couple of weeks and he usually does wee but nothing else.

The last few days he's started pointing at it when we go in the bathroom so I sit him on it and he does a wee then starts clapping himself. Sadly he sometiems gets up and finishes on the floor..

So potty training experts what do I do next?

Nothing. Just let him get on with it. He's very young, though- you might do better going back to nappies for a bit...........

I have 3 DC, just potty trained the last one. Each time it's taken only a few days. I attribute this obviously to my great training skills, but actually it's just because I leave it until a couple of months before they turn three. Quick and painless. I recommend it!

My DS, also 21mths has started using the potty. We spend about an hour nappy free before bed and he will sit himself on the potty for wee. Am not sure what to do next either.
He definitely knows what its for and when to sit on it. So seems silly not to carry on. But while I can see being nappy free at home and it working I'm not convoinced I could take him out and about with trousers but no nappy and for him to remember.

He is very young to potty train. A child's language needs to develop more to get to a level of understanding. I would stick with nappies and continue with putting him on the potty before bath only.
What's the rush, it just adds pressure to their lives and could end up causing greater problems in the future.
