Ds has been out of nappies for a week now and as you can imagine we've had a few puddles on the carpet. I'm paranoid our house just smells like a massive toilet - what's the best way to clean up?

i usually soak up the wetness with some paper towels, then spray on Vanish foam carpet cleaner, then work into the carpet with a wet cloth and then when its dry hoover it up. i have to say i usually skip the last step because i hoover frequently so it gets done when i next vaccum.

i have cleaned one patch of carpet with a Vax Carpet Washer Vaccum because it seemed smelly and just wouldnt get clean. did the trick perfectly!

Simple solution spray from pets at home is brilliant.

You can also use biological washing powder dissolved in water - but I'm not sure if it would damage carpet (I only use it on tiled floors)

Disinfectant in warm water, good clean with the cloth then dry with a tea towel.
