I was talking to a friend yesterday about embarrassing and awkward parenting situations we have found ourselves in. One of the things I mentioned was when ds2 age 8 soled himself in the car whilst stuck in traffic. She claimed that none of her children have pooed themselves past potty training age. All 3 of mine at some age past daytime nappies, have, due to no fault of their own, filled their pants and urgently needed a new pair. Is this an inevitable of parenting or am I just unlucky? Xx

God yes. Frequently. Ds1 I won't count really as he had toileting issues. Dd just doesn't think about it. She lives on another planet and mostof the time going to the toilet just isn't something that is on her radar until it is too late.

Yes. My dd was potty trained in 2 days flat at 2, but whenever she is stressed ( arrival of sibling, moving house, starting school nursery) she has accidents. Drives me mad, but it's quite normal. She stops within a few days with the help of rewards etc.
