Please someone tell me whether to give up following day 1's non-success :(

Dd is 2.10yo and this is our 2nd attempt at potty training.

10:45 - Big wee on the floor while playing which she immediately told me about.
1pm - Wee on the floor while playing again which she noticed as she was doing it.
2pm - Smaller wee on the floor.
2:45 - A tiny wee squeezed out at the kitchen table while she was trying to poo (the poo never materialised)
3:45 - Another tiny wee on the floor, during which she said "I want to do a wee on my potty"
4pm - Massive wee on the sofa while watching tv. She didn't tell me that it had happened.

She has been sitting on her potty at regular intervals in between these accidents, reading Princess Polly's potty, with promises of a special treat if she manages anything. Each time she's had an accident she has reluctantly put clean pants on afterwards.

Should we just abandon this?

Or am I being a wuss and need to give it more time?

All 3 of my DDs potty trained in matter of days BUT the first day was non-stop accidents, far more than your DD today.

I would hang in there for a few days.

Well I would say she's not ready as my 2 older dd's I knew the first day if they were ready.

Dd1 was 2 yrs 4 mths no accidents at all the first day. And was dry day and night within the week.

Dd2 was 2yrs 2mths 2 accidents and maybe a handful since over a year later, however still not dry during the night.

Dd3 we tried on Saturday she is 2yrs 2mths, absolutely no interest in the potty, won't even sit on it, all wees done on the floor and couldn't care less of a promise of a treat. The nappy went back on Sunday. I will try again October half term.

When they are ready I really believe they just get it first day, but obviously others have different experiences, good luck!

Ok, I think I'm just feeling a bit defeated by the fact we haven't had a single little thing on the potty.

We didn't have any success on the first day with any of my DDs OP and my sister said on the first day that DD2 wasn't ready but I knew she was.

DD1 was clean and dry after 3 days at 2.1, DD2 was the same age but it took 4 days and DD3 was 19 months and took 2 days. I'd say with each DD we had 10-15 accidents the first day and not a thing on the potty.

She just told me that she wanted to do a wee on her potty, sat on it for five mins and then did it on the floor 5 mins later.

Every now and then I feel like she's making a tiny amount of progress and then I wonder why I'm bothering!

We stopped and started again with DD. We left it about 1.5 months but left the potty around so DD had some experience of using it before trying again.

Update...

Dd has done two massive wees on her potty so far today and no accidents Shock Grin

I have no idea how that happened overnight!!!
