I have been potty training my twins who will be 2 and half since the beginning of July. I didn't plan on starting so early but they were constantly taking their nappies off during the day and night so I felt I had no choice.
I was following Gina ford as I had followed the contented baby book when they were born. It was going ok and they were using the potty for both wees and poos and neither of them were scared of the toilet. I think I became a bit slack with it and never really got to the stage of moving the potty into the toilet. When I did try they would just go and get it and bring it into the kitchen and sit on it. We have had lots of visitors and been on holiday and they are about to start a new school next week so I have been really trying to get them on the toilet all the time in the last week so decided to get rid of the potty altogether and encourage them to use the toilet all of the time. Both have now done both wees and poos on the toilet but only with me constantly saying "do u need the toilet". They will not say to me "I need a wee" so without my prompting we have had numerous accidents especially when we are out. I have tried everything and am ready to get them back in nappies as I'm really losing my patience.
Does anyone have any suggestions or advice? I have tried the smartie thing when they have something and I'm ashamed to say tried to get them to compete against each other by saying "your sister has been to the toilet". I should also mention that they can dress and have good verbal skills.
