I started three days ago. Each morning we sit for about three hours (yes tearing hair out by this point). I'm pleasantly surprised at how long I can get him to sit. Anyway when he finally has had enough he then gets off and wees on his floor! Like he's been holding it in. Should I stop and go back in a few months?

My youngest dd was like this. She could literally hold it all day and refused to use potty. I gave up and tried again at 2.8 and it just clicked that time. She's been nappy free about 6 weeks now and is already nappy free at night too. Think she just wasn't ready and waiting the extra 3 months actually made it really stressfree when she was ready. I would wait a bit and come back to it

Yes give up. I had a similar issue with DD1 2 years ago. She would hold it all in all day long. Wouldn't touch the potty. Then filled her nappy as soon as we got her ready for bed. We realised after 2 days that she was physically ready but not emotionally/mentally ready. Tried again 6 months later (left it so long as I was 6 months pregnant with DD2). She then took to it very quickly. Pretty much dry day and night after 3 days.
We've just tried with DD2 this week and gave up after half a day as she was constantly wetting her pants. No control so no point in continuing!

Thank you! Will give up and go back to it in three months or so.
