I guess its giving mixed messages to sometimes have a wee on the toilet and others (out and about for instance) to go in a nappy? Do children get confused or can they distinguish 'the right time and place'? Confused

What do you do at the beginning of toilet training when its very very hit and miss? Sometimes a loo is just not available and we are in a situation where (2 weeks in) where asking for the toilet hasn't been learned yet. Today was the first successful day with 2 wees on the loo! Smile

We are taking the potty everywhere.... Potty in the car park before going into the supermarket, park, etc. Total pain but I think its got to be done until DC knows when he needs to go. Not sure what the other options are - putting a nappy on seems like a backwards step!

Thanks. It doesn't seem right to keep a nappy on. I've got a baby Bjorn big potty so will try him on that. At the moment we are managing a toilet rather than a potty but have a bumbo seat which is portable so can start trying that for out and about.
