DD out of nappies but refuses knickers- driving us mad!

DD aged 2.5 has been out of nappies for a month but 2 weeks ago took against wearing knickers. Getting them on would require pinning her down while she screams, only to take them off again. She strips off her bottom half in public, even tho she knows it's 'private'. We've tried different pants, cut labels out, reward chart, incentives etc. Am at my wits end with it. Today I've said we can't go out until pants are on. She is happy to stay in but I'm going slowly mad!!!

Has she said what the problem with pants is? Are they hurting her in some way? Bigger size? I assume you've let her pick her favourite character pants etc.

If it's not a physical problem, what about bigging up wearing pants? The pants book is fun, or the aliens love underpants series?

Take her to a supermarket, let her choose what pants she wants. You could slowly introduce them eg: pullups, pullups with pants beside them in the morning, pants over pullups, pants under pullups, no pullups just pants. all out of ideas. good luck

For now, does she need them on? could you just bung some tights on her and at least get out of the house? Let it calm down at bit then try again when it's less fraught.

Also, are there any boys pants she likes, with longer legs or different designs? I think for now it'd better that she has some, even if you wouldn't have bought them, than for you both to be getting het up.
