Potty training

Is your child ready for potty training at nursery? Here's the place for all your toilet training questions.

He really wants to wear big boy pants but doesn't seem to get potty training at all, what do we do?

It just seems counter-intuitive to try and force him back into nappies. We've had pants, potty and pirate Pete book around for ages and one day he just said 'nappies are for babies, I wear pants'. He's 2.10 and physically very able, so we can keep him dry all day by reminding him to use potty/ toilet on a hourly basis. He happily uses loos when we are out too. However if we don't remind him he will never think to go on his own or ask to go. We are on week three and if not vigilant on reminding him going through 6 to 8 pairs of trousers a day (luckily floors wood and tile!).

Any suggestions, any experience, do we just keep at the reminders (and chocolate bribes)?

The wet clothes are just part of the course it seems for some though some kids get it straight away. Just bring loads of spares the worst thing is you have to change him but it doesn't matter really and he sounds keen bless him good luck :)

Thanks for the reply - yes we travel with plenty of spares, its just the no improvement/ not asking once in 3 weeks..
