My 2.2yr old has only ever had a total of about 8 solid poos in his life. This is connected with the fact that he is allergic to something in milk, probably milk protein, as I couldn't give him any unboiled milk without his immediately weeing out of his bot, poor thing. So I give him boiled milk when he needs it, and the situation is much better but still not great.
Unfortunately I can see that when we start potty training he may well get quite distressed about the unpleasantness of having a poo and becoming really dirty each time, as he won't be able to wipe it off himself and even I will have to lie him down nappy-style to get it all off. Result: potty-training will not seem like an achievement but a step backwards for him. Can someone reassure me this is a situation we can both handle?
