Potty conquered - so how the heck to you get them to use the toilet?!

We are on day 5 of potty training and our DD has mastered it. She tells us when she needs to go, and will come with me when I ask her if she needs to go. Always on the potty.

I bought a toilet seat, which she likes, but seems to be completely averse to using it.

Do I just continue having the potty in the bathroom and keep suggesting the toilet?

I realise we are just on day 5, but she has grasped it quickly this far, I just wondered whether to let her be for a while, or continue to 'train.'

She won't always want to use the potty. She prefer the toilet when she gets older. At your stage I would be thankful that her poo or wee in in the potty or toilet and not her pants or the floor. My daughter has been trained 18 months and still uses the potty some of the time. From a practical point of view it easier to have a child who is prepared to use either the toilet or the potty.

Nursery is a wonderful way of persuading little people to use the toilet

was advised by creche when was toilet training ds to NOT use a potty as they have to retrain some kids all over again as dont like using the toilet. so she is doing well and wouldnt worry this early but definately would only allow her use potty in the toilet (i.e. on the floor and let her see you empty it into loo and flush). she will get there.
