Is it confusing to potty train at home but use nappies at nursery?

Hi all,
Any advice appreciated. My daughter is 21 months old and happy to use the potty when at home (except when tired!) so we've started using training pants but nappies for nap. We have accidents but I presume that's part of the journey. At nursery, however, she still has nappies (they didn't think she was showing any signs). I worry that this is just confusing everything? Maybe we should just say goodbye to nappies (o how nice would that be....).

They should be doing what you're doing. Although interested to know why you think she's ready and they don't?

You're the parents- if you say, 'we're potty training at home'- this is how we're doing it, they should follow suit. Ours did! Accidents and all-
Just pack several sets of spare clothes!

Yes, I think you are right PPT. I'm beginning to think that we should just go for it. She's been in training pants all morning today and no accidents even though she is also feeling poorly.

I'm also interested in how children give signals that are picked up at nursery Iggly. It seems to be quite a subtle thing so I wonder if they have the time to hear/ understand what she is communicating. At home, she tells us when she needs to wee or poo and she'll give it a go on the potty. It doesn't always work out that way and she has accidents but it seems to me she is heading in the right direction.

When I mentioned to our nursery that I was thinking of starting training, they just said "no problem, tell us what you want us to do." followed by "what parents normally do is drop off a large bag of spare knickers and trousers and tell us how often they want us to put X on potty, 15mins 30mins or whatever."
They were great. Yours should be too.

We trained weekends only for about a month at about 23 months. Didn't expect him to get it,but he did. I only told nursery once he did all of his wees in the potty at home. Then sent him in in pull ups for a bit, and he soon got the hang of it at nursery too. There was no confusion issues.
However, I totally agree with others that nursery should be following your lead.
