DS1 is 3.2 and has been toilet training for about 4 months.

he was happy using the potty and now the toilet.

he's just so hit or miss about asking/remembering to go. we do remind him before and after meals/going out etc, but he often seems to busy to stop.

he's only ever had a couple of poo accidents, but some days he has none and others 3 or more wees which don't quite make it to the toilet. he only seems to do a small amount in his pants.

he does still seem to be making progress, the last couple of weeks he's taken himself off to the toilet a few times and then come and told us all proud.

his most common time for accidents is during meals as we often spot the wriggling about too late.

he also isn't keen on holding his willy to pee for some reason, he either goes hands free or tries to persuade us to help!

any tips to help appreciated! thanks.

Wear a watch with an alarm set to go every 15 min and ask him each time if he needs to go for a while if you are struggling to remember to ask. Get him to get into the habit of going to the loo and washing hands before sitting for a meal (he will do this when he starts school so is good practice). Try putting a pin pong ball or a cheerio in the loo for him to aim at which will encourage him to hold himself. Make a huge fuss if he goes without being told too and sticker charts work really well at this age. Good luck

He could sit down for a wee for now, which has the added bonus of being aot less messy!

ever since he learned weeing standing up he always wants to do it, i think because it's much quicker!
