And still going strong! Still no wee accidents and poos are starting to hit the potty too (pardon the pun!)...patience has been my virtue along with a treat for poos in the right place lol he'll now announce 'poos coming' if he feels a movement albeit only 1 of the 4-5 announcements is right at the moment but I gets us on standby for the real thing lol and, DP and I had fillet steak date night last night with the saved money...woohoo!

woohoo well done!

We're still not getting any announcements before the event - just "I got wee" once his trousers are wet (though he's very happy to make a wee when I tell him it's time to sit on the potty)

Is the 2-3 yo mind able to understand a complex concept like getting a reward if he tells me he needs it, but not if I have to tell him? Would that lead to him just not cooperating when I do tell him it's time?

I took a tip from nursery where they sit toddlers on potty/toilet every half hour, sometimes with a result, sometimes not...but always make a big thing about the pees. DS will mostly potty pee of his own accord now...if I think he might be due to go I'll prompt him. On the rewards, they are only for poos, he did ask a couple of times for his 'surprise' but explained not til we had a poo in the potty, and he accepts this now.
