DD2 is 2.5 and as been dried if naked since Xmas no accident at all. We have now overcome the "I only want a nappy for pooing" and the "I am afraid of the pants I don't want to wear them" so we have decided to go for it.
After 3 days she is still peeing in the pants though Confused.
Technically she is potty trained as she can do everything, hold herself, ask to go... but not with pants on.
DH wanted to put her back in nappies to go outside, I refused, not sure how long I can hold on (i.e. bullied DH in doing this)
She usually pees and stops so not a problem to clear, except this morning at playgroups (due to the very interesting new toys)
WWYD?

Dress and no pants :)

Honestly, I think its really common - maybe feels like nappies? Years since dd was at that stage, but it seemed to be the norm for loads of kids to be in t-shirt or dress and nothing else for a while after potty training.

Even more cunning, for cold weather my friend's solution for her ds - long t-shirt, wooly jumper and legwarmers Grin

thanks but she has been at that stage for very long now (well at least indoor!) for about 5 months. Confused she will have to wear underpants and keep them dry.
I have tried loose underpants too. May be i should tried with her sister's if they stay up?

Sorry I am not very clear I am looking for the next stage after they spend thier days naked (or bottomless) then wwyd?

I had no problems with DD1 in nappies one day, in pants with no accidents the next, so this is new to me!

Have you tried reading a potty book like the Princess Polly one? They helped my dd get the idea?

LeMousquetaireAnonyme · 27/06/2012 16:28

She has speech delay, her understanding is not great (compare to her sister at the same age still within normal) and she doesn't like books. well she does but since her sister is reading alone, she does too Confused, she has yet to sit and listen to a story with me!

Somebody in RL suggested she might be irritated by the pants and it messes up her control, but she had no advice on how to remedy that!

Was going to suggest boxer shorts, but see you have a girl Grin

What about knickers that are slightly too big? Next age up ones?

girlywhirly · 28/06/2012 12:34

Baggy shorts with no pants underneath? If they are flapping about her legs she might be reminded there is nothing to catch an accident.

PhyllisDoris · 28/06/2012 12:38

Bribe her! Either a sticker chart, or reward if she stays dry, and uses toilet. Bet that will work!

bebemoojem · 28/06/2012 12:38

I would still go with boxers or if you rather 'boy shorts' undies. It might help. It helped with dd. We also let her wear leggings with no undies for a while. Basically we had the same set backs for about 2 months and then she settled into 'proper' potty training.

patience, it's hard, and annoying, but patience

Thanks, it is already better today, 3 pees asked for, same knickers all morning Grin (I took a sized up), she is now naked though. It is hot here! FX

I had this problem and found as soon as I made him wear undies all the time (and bribed) we got it. Good luck !
