Am i mad to potty train before baby comes?

DD is 2.4 and was quite interested in the potty about 6 months ago but seems less interested now. Am starting maternity leave next week and have 8 days with her before she goes back to child minders so was thinking it may be good time - she's pretty dry, we use max three nappies a day. She definitely knows when she is doing something and tells me so I think she'll be able to suss it out pretty quickly. Last time I was thinking about doing it at christmas, she had an accident at the start, wearing her new knickers, and then didn't want to take off her nappy again. But time of year better now and feels like good time to do it.

But due date for new baby is 30 April. Will be keeping DD at childminders 3 days a week once baby arrives so won't have another long stretch with her at home for a while. Am I mad to start trying now?

Dd2 was 2.4yrs she was doing 6 poos a day in nappies, I decided to try potty training (cos friend was trying it with her dd of similar age). In just over 2 days went from not having been on potty to dry day and night. It can happen, but with a little baby do be aware that it can go forwards as well as backwards.

Same situation!
I'm due 8th May and DD is pretty ready (very ready with pees, although still just walks off and stands in a corner or goes to another room when she's doing a poo).
Finishing work tomorrow and kinda want to take bull by horns on Thursday. I'm quite big and bit uncomfortable and think I need to do it now, or it'll be a few more months down the line. DD is 2 yrs 5 mths.
Feeling anxious about it!
Let us know how you get on....
