Hi,
my DS is 4yrs and is most of the time still wet when we take his nappy off in the morning, but is brilliant at going to the toilet in the day.
What do we do, agree with him and see what happens or wait till he is dry through the night.
If you think we should let him wear pants, do you have any tips cos I dont know where to start Confused

Thanks x

Our DS1 didn't ask so we waited until he was dry! It is encouraging he is asking though as it shows he is trying.

How about pull-ups? Or putting those bedpads under him and letting him wear pants?

You could maybe try some trainer pants, the ones with some absorbancy but waterproof too?

Do you know if he is waking but not bothering to get up for the loo (maybe since he knows he is wearing a nappy) or whether he sleeps through it?

we had this experiment as well but gave up as we had 2 dry nights and then wet nights again. we switched to pull ups (the huggies ones with a picture on it that dissapears when wet), but it still is hit and miss.
we will move to nappy free when he is dry most nights...

our ds asked because his cousin was dry at night very early. clearly competition.

Don't waste a load of money on bedmats!!! I used to put a bin-bag on the mattress then a towel then a sheet and repeat the layers so if an accident happened i could just strip of the top layers and DS could go straight back to sleep. Saves a fortune!!

Ohhh thanks for that Trolly, I couldnt get any at the shops so was wondering what to do but thats a brilliant idea, will try it tonight!! x
