You are training at the exact same age I did my little boy. Have you tried sitting him on the potty in front of the TV for favorite programmes? (you only have to do this for a week or so until they get the hang of it so its not as bad as it sounds!). I also got him a great reward chart (My big star chart from encourageandpraise.co.uk). We sat down and talked about the chart and what it was for when it arrived and I gave him a smiley face sticker for every time he performed on the potty, a smiley fa ce at the end of a dry day and then a little reward (you can choose them together) for every 10 stickers. He was really enthused by it and was dry in around 10 days. Might be worth a try. I definitely agree with your approach about not putting pressure on him though...I'm sure that would only make it worse. It's a tough couple of weeks (and messy!) but you'll get there! x

I am having the same problem with my daughter of exactly the same age ... so don't have any tips but do sympathise! I've tried stickers, sweeties, wild applause ... still can't get the girl to wee on the potty! And if I put her in pants she stays dry all day - she doesn't have accidents but just waits for me to put a nappy on her before she wees or poos. Hope you get some good tips on here that I can try too!

Checking in for tips here too - DD3 was 3 in Jan but won't use the loo. If I ask where wee/poo should go she'll say "in the loo" but she doesn't want to do it herself. She would sit in a wet nappy for ages - just sometimes will she say "me got a dirty bot bot". Her sisters were never like this!
