Hi

Not sure if title makes much sense. My dd is 2, she was born with imperforate anus and had a stoma (colostomy) for first 18 months of her life. Docs have told us to go ahead and start potty training to see how she does. I;m not really sure where to start - jsut looking for advice or probably more reassuarance for any parent who has been in a similar situation.

Thansk for your help.

I am guessing your DD has been able to poo via her 'bottom' for the past 6 months? If that is the case I would have thought that you would treat her as you would any other child.

Personally I think 2 years is young to potty train. I would use a potty for wees and possibly poos just before bath time and leave it at that for the moment.

Like most toddlers I think they have to learn where it all comes from first!!

Good Luck j x
