Anyone think a toilet training seat hole is too small for a boy to wee?

I have started to potty train my boy (2.3yo old) and it?s been going quite good so far. I bought a toilet training seat for upstairs bathroom and potty to keep downstairs, so he can use both. The potty is big and nice and we have no problem using it. The toilet seat is from Boots, soft padded and looks nice, but when my boy sits down to wee, he?s willy just does not fit in there, and he wees through the front all over. If I move him further to make space to wee, then his bum sticks out at the back and wouldn?t fit if he is doing poo.

I have looked around for toilet seats with a bigger hole but could not find any.

Should we just buy another potty and use it instead of toilet seat?
Or is there any bigger toilet seat available that enables to wee and poo at the same time?
Or should I teach him to wee in a standing position?

Any opinions appreciated.

Yes, I've found this too. I'm sure there's a market for a specially designed seat for boys.

that why we never used a training seat. We had to strip him from the waist down, sit him on the toilet with his legs wide and get him to either hold on at the front or sides of the seat so that he could get his willy to point into the toilet.

Have you ever tried the bumbo seat?! They do a blue one (I assumed this was for boys) but it is soooo ridiculously small...there was no way my ds could get the wee anywhere but all over himself!

We used to sit him on the padded toilet seat and show him how to hold his willy down so it didnt spray everywhere, but still has numerous accidents because he ended up spraying the back of his pants and trousers.

After a few months once he knew the difference between asking for a poo and wee, we showed him how to stand, and its much easier now

I spent several hours on internet looking for the right toilet seat and ordered Babybjorn, it has higher end on the front and is more of oval than round shape. If this doesn?t do any good, then I will have to get another potty, I guess?

Glad to see its a common theme, was slightly worried when nursery told me my son was too big for their seat and potty
We've sorted out the potty issue with a better shaped one but the seat often means we have spray and dribble issues...but he now shouts "winky down" and sometimes manages to reposition it himself
I'm actually amazed how well he's actually doing
