I’m 1 weeks 2 days postpartum. I love being a mum and I love my baby but I feel so low and sad all the time at the moment and I feel so guilty for not being happy through this time. I feel like I’m mourning my old life as well as in my head living through the trauma of birth and then looking at my body and thinking ew what’s happened😂 there’s so many things I’m sad about and it makes me feel so guilty that I’m not just happy his here and that I’m a mum. I hope others can relate otherwise I’m going to feel like such an awful parent.

It's can be normal but it's best to speak to someone about it, post partum can be really difficult. I found the support offered was helpful I had a really bad experience that left me ill for months after I had my youngest I was very down and having trouble bonding as a result. Sometimes we need more support if it doesn't pass, it gets better and you will feel more yourself in time

I love being a mum but I've had some of my lowest moments during pregnancy and after childbirth, also some of my best but it's a challenging time don't be too hard on yourself is my advice

I felt like this after my first and it’s really common so don’t beat yourself up about it. Reach out to your midwife/health visitor - mine were amazing.

Op don’t feel guilty at all, what you’re feeling is very common. Your hormones will be all over the place after birth. Birth trauma is also very real, combined with physical recovery and lack of sleep. And your life has just changed. Be kind to yourself.
