So after a couple of issues with superficial openings and suspected thrush my wound has closed over. There are some darker areas than others. I had my 8 week check today and the GP prescribed some topical wash and cream to dry it out because he said it’s still moist. I think this is down to the fold though. There is some redness on the skin too.

can anyone advise on what to do next? It’s hard to keep it completely dry because of how deep the scar is. Is there a dressing I could wear because I don’t want to develop an infection and don’t want to have to apply topical creams all the time.

Hi @Sunshine8537I’m afraid I don’t have any advice on dressings but I did have a kind of belt thing that I wore to protect the area. It was more padding so not sure how useful 8 weeks post partum. Would a dressing make it less likely to dry out or would it make it worse potentially?

It wasn’t that one but it was similar

I’m not sure but with them advising a sanitary towel initially I was thinking of something that I could stick on so it stays.
