Is sore knees/joints hormonal?

I am 5 months postpartum, EBF, and am generally sore and achy everywhere. I have recently started to try and get back out running (ran regularly pre and during pregnancy) but after a week or two my knees are agony! I have never had any issue with my knees nor any previous injury. The stairs are nearly impossible and even walking hurts. Is this a hormonal thing while breastfeeding? Or is it the extra weight? Has anyone else experienced this?

Have you got any unusual bruising?

No, but I have had inflammatory conditions emerge postpartum — hormonal fluctuations are a possible trigger. Get bloods done OP.

Totally agree with GP and possible bloods. Post partum auto immune conditions are quite common.

No, no bruising or visible swelling

This is normal! Omegas help anecdotally - don't know if there's science behind it. Women's health physio confirmed it for me - to do with oestrogen levels while BFing I think
