6 weeks postpartum, such a bad back it is unbearable. In general I'm fit and healthy and do exercise, well did do prior to the baby arriving (walking/light workout videos). This pain is unbearable! It gets worse as the day goes on, which is tough when our DS is wanting to be comforted specifically from 4-7pm, it really hurts. I am doing every day back strengthening workouts and stretches but nothing is helping. I am bf'ing, trying to be cautious of posture. Is this normal? Anyone else had this? Will it pass? It's hard not to get down about it.😥

Did you have an epidural? If you did I’d ask to be seen.

It could be your core? I also had bad backache after having my daughter and saw a physio who gave me exercises which mainly focussed on my core. I would recommend seeing a physiotherapist and getting them to assess what is causing the pain.

I did, but the back pain just started a week ago...

Please speak to your GP and ask for some physio. What kind of delivery did you have? Epidural? Supine in stirrups? Upright? Where is the pain? Lower? Just above your pelvis, or higher? In the mean time ice and pain relief, paracetamol & ibuprofen are safe to take.
