Bleeding 5 week pp

My postpartum bleeding stopped a few weeks ago - on Sunday I started spotting again and it’s gradually got worse all week today it’s really heavy having to change pads every couple hrs and I have clots. Is this just my period returning or should I be concerned? My periods before baby were very light and short

Mine stopped and started for sure until 6 weeks ish. I do remember nearly stopping then started again with more clots (I think it was clearing out some remaining tissue etc). If you get a high temp, filling a pad in an hour or just feel a bit off I would remember calling 111 and getting an out of hours GP appointment.

I would recommended getting checked out. At some hospitals they will still see you in maternity assessment up to 6 weeks postpartum so maybe ring their phone line for advice first if you can. If not try community midwives? But as pp says 111 if heavy and filling pad in an hour, or lots of clots.

Do you feel well in yourself? Fever?

Feeling rubbish and have a temp but I do have a viral infection too so been putting it down to that

100% ring and get some advice. What if it’s a viral illness but an infection too. Post miscarriage I had the flu but then retained products that turned septic….not to concern you.

Clots have any been bigger than a 50p? any odd smells?

Do you what your pulse or blood pressure is?
