Hi all,
I’m 18 days postpartum after a vaginal birth with a 3a tear. I’ve noticed a feeling of heaviness/pressure when standing or walking after 10 minutes or so, almost like a tampon is slipping out
No pain or infection signs, just that uncomfortable dragging/tampon feeling and starting to itch!
Has anyone else experienced this after a tear? Is this normal?

Hi, this sounds like a possible prolapse. Really important to see a physio and do your pelvic floor exercises. Do not do any heavy lifting or strenuous exercise until you've been checked out.
Congratulations on your baby and sorry you're experiencing this!

Hi Op, I’d definitely get it checked out as it could be a prolapse. However to offer you a bit of reassurance, I had the exact same feeling and also explained it as feeling like a tampon was half out and it just went away by itself. I can’t remember how long exactly it took, maybe 1-2 months or something. It’s a lot your body has gone through!

Hey, I had a 3b 13 months ago and completely empathise with what you’re going through! I had a feeling of heaviness/dragging for a few months but when it was checked it was “healthy” tissue rubbing against scar tissue during the healing process. Would definitely get it checked out though to rule out prolapse.
Hope you’re feeling healed soon and congratulations on your new arrival!
