Bad B.O!

Hey guys, I had my preemie baby a few weeks ago and currently pumping/trying to breastfeed. I’ve noticed that I absolutely STINK since having her. I shower every day, and I start stinking as soon as I’m finished drying. I apply deodorant and 2 minutes later, stink of B.O. I’ve read that this is normal after birth, but has any mothers out there gotten the secret to cover it up? I use mitchum spray, as well as use a nice smelling body spray. I’m dreading a hot summer when I’m already turning up peoples noses 😭😂

Do you use body wash/shower gel or a solid bar soap?
If body wash, switch to an unscented bar soap (not a dove/moisturising bar). The same thing happens during peri. Bar soap makes such a difference. And apply your strong deodorant at night, it plugs the pores more effectively or something.

Hi! I do both, I use a dove body soap bar, but find it doesn’t actually get rid off all the smell. So I then apply a scented shower gel to finish it off. I’m thinking maybe I need a stronger bar of soap

I think the pp said you need a ‘proper’ soap rather than dove, which has added moisturiser. A bar of ‘simple’ soap or something similar. It definitely helps.

Meant, not said! Sorry that sounded snippy and wasn't meant like that!

Shield soap is very good!

I had this after having my baby! It lasted probably about 3 months, and then just went completely. Even straight after getting out of the shower, and using an antibacterial soap bar, I still stank!! Hopefully you’re not too far off it disappearing on its own.
