Undiagnosed third / fourth degree tear

Anyone had an undiagnosed third or fourth degree tear involving anal sphincter muscles that you got diagnosed at a later date ?

if so what were your symptoms and what was the process for getting diagnosed / any treatment ?

No but it sounds horrific 😮 and bumping for you. I had a 3rd degree tear- have you seen a women’s health physio?

Yes, I had a 3rd degree tear with my first. Pretty horrific birth, in operating room so stitched up there and then.

Had double incontinence following, still struggling with urinary incontinence 11 years later. Also had subsequent anal fissures due to scar tissue etc.

Second birth was an elective c-section. Healing from that was a doddle compared to the first birth.
