I am currently 9 months postpartum, had a 2nd degree tear with stitches. I still find them sore and irritating sometimes, is this normal and has anyone else experienced this?

Can anyone else share their experience?

This is my experience.

I had a huge episiotomy. My scar was very uncomfortable.
I don’t want to depress you but it took me a year before intercourse was comfortable.
My obstetrician tried to “stretch” me post partum 6 weeks but it was no help.

I think I was unusual and for sure, it didn’t help my marriage, so I really hope you get better soon.

I would get checked out with the GP to be sure. I had a second degree tear with stitches too at the start of November and it all feels completely fine and has done for probably 3 months. I would say before that it was more psychological that it might feel uncomfortable. Hope it resolves quickly for you!

I had the same issue with an episiotomy, my dh was v understanding and took things slow and made sure I was comfortable with intercourse, as pp said we didn’t do a lot for the first year anyway, but I did find the more I did within the bounds of what was comfortable, the less discomfort I had and it did go back to normal with no discomfort eventually

Are you breastfeeding? I was told that it can cause a hormonal imbalance. Try some coconut oil or some other creams that’s safe for use down there and if it helps it just means the skins struggling a bit
