Still bleeding 8 weeks PP?

I had my csection 8 weeks ago now. I stopped bleeding for a week or so at 5 weeks pp then started again. On and off but most days and it’s still quite gloopy like lochia and bright red. Is this normal? I don’t have my check with the drs until end of next week and worrying a bit now!

I had bleeding post cs for 9(!) weeks in total then it just stopped abruptly but it was very light towards the end and my GP did check with me there were no clots or pain or excess etc. so it CAN go on a while, maybe you could call the midwives/health visitors to check?

oh wow! I’d heard anecdotally prolonged bleeding was less common after cs but maybe not! By 8 weeks last time after vaginal delivery I’d finished bleeding and already had my first period so this is all new to me. Thanks Koala, I might call the midwives just to ask.

Mine have all been about 17 weeks (though not CS). I would say that it's fine to wait until your Dr check next week, unless you have symptoms of infection or anything like that.
