Postnatal mental load

I am 5 months PP with my second child, and I am struggling. I've found it a lot harder to juggle two than I thought, constantly riddled with guilt that my DD (3) isn't adjusting well, my DS (5 months) isn't getting the same attention, and my DH just doesnt get it!!
I've tried to explain how I feel, and he gets defensive, I understand he has a high load as well while I earn less on maternity, and we have DIY going on in the house, but he doesn't seem to appreciate how difficult it is with two, and I'm finding myself getting bitter when he's choosing DIY over helping me, even though it needs done.
Does anyone have any advice on how to manage it all, and get your partner to appreciate what you're doing?

Just solidarity. Also have a 3 year old and a 6 month old, it’s harder than I expected too!
