Postpartum dizziness/vertigo

Just wondering if anyone else has experienced vertigo postpartum? I have no other symptoms and am 15days postpartum but for the last 3/4 nights, if I’ve rolled over in bed or sat up, the room has started spinning.

Have you had your iron levels checked?

No, they were fine throughout pregnancy. Considering going to the doctors if it persists.

i had this for first few days. I had pregnancy related anaemia and normal blood loss in delivery. BP normal. It just settled. Might have been related to taking Ibuprofen and paracetamol which I wasn’t used to taking. As well as drop in a load of hormones.

Ah ok, thankyou. I had normal blood loss during delivery too. Did you go to the doctors?

No I mentioned it to my midwives but they weren’t too worried, as long as all your obs are ok. It’s a weird feeling and kinda made me feel I had an out-of-body experience if that makes sense. Hopefully it settles for you.

I had this too, and still periodically do (DD is almost 4 weeks now). I mentioned it to my midwife who took bloods which all came back normal. I lost slightly more than average blood in labour, but my levels recovered well.

Midwife basically said it’s nothing to worry about really, make sure I’m eating and drinking enough (I’m breastfeeding, so extra important) and if it continues for another few weeks, get repeat bloods done through the GP!

I get that at certain times of the month- only sometimes tho.
Isn't it awful

Hormonal changes
Estrogen, progesterone, and aldosterone levels increase during the menstrual cycle, which can affect the inner ear and cause vertigo.
